snowboarding in japan

righto! time for some snow! we stayed at the hotel sympathigue in madarao. we had preordered vegetarians meals and so even though we got buffet dinners we were treated to super delicious special made stuff. yumo!

it was a very nice place and being on top of the valley had some great views. as a japanese hotel they also had nice onsen baths to help soothe the snowboarding weary body. that's one thing australia needs, onsens! they're great.

here's a kooky weird japanese store. in the snow!

when we got bored and the slopes were shut we played the kiss destination 2 dancing game. ll the guys think about her, all the girls think about him

here's our room. classic japanese stuff, tatami and futons which seem a bit hard first few days when you're not used to them. poor old matt was a bit fluey this day and spent most of it in bed.

now for some action shots! here's mat recovered and zooming around

and her comes sarah on her pocket-rocket sled. man, those things go real fast, especially down the main slopes, when you're the first ones out for the day (until the ski patrol comes and tells you off)

and here's ren on the very last run, metres from the gear return desk.
